Biography

Dr Daniel Kaplan, an LECG affiliate, has been actively involved in the economic analysis of market performance for more than years.  As an economic consultant he has testified in federal courts, before federal regulatory agencies and before the European Commission.  He has also written numerous articles, government reports, and he coatuhoreed a book on airline deregulation.  His consulting assignments have covered mergers and acquisitions, price-fixiing, predatory pricing, pricing of regulated entities, damages, and bankruptcy.  He has been retained by the Depratment of Justice, the Department of Transportaion, and the Federal Trade Commission.   Whille much of his practice involves the airline industry, he has also worked in the entertainment, solid waste, software, and various manufacturing industries.  His airline clients have included foreign and domestic carriers of all sizes.

Dr. Kaplan was formerly a senior vice president at Glassman-Oliver Economic Consultants, Inc.  Before becoming a consultant, Dr Kaplan held several key policy positions with the Civil Aeronautics Board and the Department of Transportation, including serving as the CAB's chief economist.  He also served as a the deputy assistant director for economic evidence in the Bureau of Economics at the Federal Trade Commission, as well as a principal analyst at the Congressional Budget Office.  Dr Kaplan has taught at both American University and George Washington University.  He received a PhD from the University of Michigan and a B.S. from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
