Biography

David Hughes, a director in the LECG London office, is a former Arthur Andersen senior partner and audit practice director with considerable experience dealing with accounting, financial reporting, corporate governance and auditing issues, mergers and acquisitions, and related claims and disputes. Through his role as audit practice director he has accounting and auditing experience in most industries. His particular industry specialisations are retail, consumer products and services, engineering and construction, airline and hospitality, and healthcare. He has been the engagement partner for a number of international groups providing advice on accounting, auditing, risk management and corporate governance issues, corporate strategy, and acquisitions.

He has provided expert testimony for commercial disputes and regulatory complaints. David’s recent case log includes work on complaints and disputes involving the technology and construction court, the commercial court, the employment tribunal, the Financial Services Authority, the Institute of Chartered Accountants, the Joint Disciplinary Scheme, and the Accountancy Investigation and Disciplinary Board.
