Biography
Guido Cervigni is a director at LECG and head of the Milan office competition group. Prior to joining LECG, Guido was head of economic analysis and regulatory relations in the regulatory affairs department at Enel S.p.A. He has also worked at the Italian Power Exchange (GME) and in the tariff and competition and markets divisions of the Italian Energy Regulatory Authority.
Guido has advised on a range of antitrust issues including merger control, horizontal & vertical agreements, abuse of dominance and damages from competition law violations. He has extensive experience of regulatory and competition issues in energy markets, and was responsible for developing GME’s market design and market rules proposals. He acted as GME’s delegate in the working groups of EuroPEX, the association of European Power Exchanges, and represented the Italian Energy Regulatory Authority in several working groups of the Council of European Electricity Regulators.
Guido holds a PhD in economics from Bocconi University, Milan, where he is currently a lecturer of economics of regulation. Guido has published articles on electricity market issues in a number of journals and co-authored a book titled Natural Monopoly, Competition and Regulation with M D’Antoni.
