John H Maher, Director

Biography

John H. Maher, a director in LECG’s Washington DC office, specializes in credit risk services. Mr. Maher assists clients with credit services, risk management, strategic planning and development, regulatory compliance, and organizational design. His clients include domestic and international banks.

Before joining LECG, Mr. Maher was vice president and head of international strategic development at Fleet Bank, NA in New York. In this role he managed various global initiatives designed to enhance product delivery to corporate customers worldwide. Mr. Maher also managed international trade promotion, including export lending and correspondent banking services.

Earlier, Mr. Maher served as the special assistant to the chairman of the board and CEO of National Westminster Bank, NA. In that capacity, Mr. Maher developed and executed various strategic initiatives both domestically and abroad. He also was a member of the risk policy committee of the board of directors and an executive liaison between the European and North American operations of NatWest PLC. While at NatWest, Mr. Maher also served in the internal management consulting unit, in which he advised executive management on a variety of cross-functional, strategic imperatives for business and operating units throughout the United States. Earlier at NatWest, Mr. Maher served as a relationship manager for large and mid-size corporate borrowers. Mr. Maher also completed a 12-month commercial credit management training program, during which time he served as chief credit analyst.

Mr. Maher received a BA degree summa cum laude in economics from Drew University and an MBA in corporate finance from the Lubin Graduate School of Business at Pace University.
