Malcolm Berryman departs CEO role at Liverpool Victoria Group to join LECG

What: LECG, a global expert services firm, announces that former group chief executive of the Liverpool Victoria Group, Malcolm Berryman, has joined LECG’s expanding financial services expert base in London. Malcolm’s arrival follows the earlier appointment of financial services director, Mark Winlow, who joined in January 2006 from financial services firm Zurich where he was managing director of their UK personal insurances business.

Who: Malcolm Berryman, an actuary by profession, held the position of group CEO at the retail financial services group, Liverpool Victoria Group for six years. Malcolm also held other senior roles within the group for 10 years, and prior to that time he was CFO and CEO of Crown Financial Management, a life and pensions company. This adds to earlier roles at Allied Irish Banks and Cornhill Life. At Liverpool Victoria, Malcolm oversaw the entire breadth of the multi-line financial services company, which offered banking, credit cards, general and life insurance.
Malcolm’s substantial actuarial experience will add to LECG’s powerful advisory expertise built on economics and finance. The firm has been increasing its market share in the financial services sector, having recently been advising clients such as UK regulator, The Financial Services Authority (FSA) and the Irish Competition Authority.

Within financial services, LECG has recently been involved in the final salary transfer market, where a number of high profile start up insurers have been announced. There is now a clearly identified need for an independent valuation, often on behalf of trustees. LECG has the capability to provide such independent valuations and related advice.
