Biography

Paul O’Rourke has more than 30 years of experience in energy consulting and general management. Mr. O’Rourke has extensive experience working in North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia Pacific. His experience includes strategy development, technology and market assessment (including DSM program assessment and cost-benefit analysis), marketing management, and organization assessment. Mr. O’Rourke has worked extensively in all segments of the energy industry, including electricity, oil, natural gas, coal, and renewable resources. He has worked with a broad range of utility industry clients in North America, including most of the 50 largest investor-owned electric utilities in the United States. He has also worked extensively with utility trade associations, including the Electric Power Research Institute, Edison Electric Institute, and the Gas Research Institute.

Since 1985, Mr. O’Rourke has managed energy practices at: Booz Allen & Hamilton (1977–1987); CRA International (1988–1992 and 2000–2006); Putnam, Hayes & Bartlett (1993-2000); Concentric Energy Advisors (2007–2008); and LECG (2008 to present). In each of these positions, Mr. O’Rourke had major management responsibility for growing the energy practice and extending the range of service offerings and cultivating new client relationships. In addition to his client responsibilities and management responsibilities, Mr. O’Rourke took on increasingly broad corporate responsibilities for recruiting senior staff across the firm, and identifying and negotiating acquisitions of privately-held energy consultancies.
