Biography
Stephen Behnke is a director in the Lake Oswego office of LECG, where he uses his extensive fixed income securities and retail brokerage experience to consult and to testify on matters involving account performance, sales practices, supervision, branch office administration, employment issues, Registered Investment Advisory matters and complex securities including auction rate securities and structured notes.
Prior to joining LECG, Mr. Behnke was a managing director, head of operations at Presidio Financial Partners, LLC where he was responsible for all operations functions associated with the firm’s broker dealer and investment advisory business including: custody and clearing, new accounts and account maintenance, account data aggregation and portfolio performance reporting through Advent Axys. He also served on the firm’s investment committee which oversaw investment manager selection and oversight.
Mr. Behnke served on Bank of America Securities Executive Management Committee and co-managed the private client department that provided brokerage, investment advisory and investment consulting services to high net worth clients. He was responsible for all client account aggregation and performing reporting, compliance and sales supervisory related matters, facilities, systems, policies and procedures, risk mitigation, client complaints, business and employment contracts and other legal matters.
While at Montgomery Securities, Mr. Behnke started a fixed income business and managed Montgomery’s Corporate Cash Management business which grew to approximately 125 clients with AUM of nearly $4 billion. He was responsible for all new client development, portfolio management and monthly performance reporting to clients as well as providing fixed income portfolio management and brokerage services to the firm’s high net worth clients.
